Shanghai, China - September 1, 2011 - BASF announced that Ms. Huang Ruobing was appointed as a director of BASF's Greater China management board to replace Dr. Karl hei6, who will retire at the end of this year. as BASF's global vice president and director of the Greater China management board, Huang Ruobing will be responsible for BASF's production and technology in Greater China, and will serve as the general manager of BASF Applied Chemical Co., Ltd., based in Shanghai. Before retiring, Dr. Bonin will continue to be responsible for tasks related to BASF Pudong base expansion project, including the construction of the Asia Pacific innovation and Technology Park and the new headquarters in Greater China

Huang Ruobing joined BASF in 2004 as the production unit manager of Shanghai BASF Polyurethane Co., Ltd. and then transferred to general manager of Shanghai Lianheng isocyanate Co., Ltd. in 2008. BASF established these two companies with domestic and foreign partners to jointly invest in the integrated isocyanate project in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park to produce diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and toluene diisocyanate (TDI). Huang Ruobing has made important contributions to the operation of this project with a total investment of US $1billion. MDI and TDI are important raw materials for polyurethane production. Polyurethane is widely used in cars and buildings, refrigerators, furniture decoration, mattresses and shoes
